Thursday 7th October 2010 10.00am - 4.00pm

These workshops will provide non-technical guidance in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere so that by the end of the session you will have learnt new skills and applications and feel confident enough to explore the scope of your laptop further. Helpful shortcuts, setting your desktop, e-mail/folder management, the latest Web tools etc. A max of ten participants ensures plenty of individual attention.

£80.00 to include a light lunch

The Mac laptop course will include skills such as:-

• Using the basic Mac system
• Managing your contacts
• Using the Internet with Safari browser and Google
• Helpful shortcuts
• If time, other programs such as BBC iPlayer

Topics that will be covered on the Laptop Workshop for Windows:-

• Setting up your laptop’s ‘desktop'
• Better e-mail management
• Attachments, copy and paste
• Folder management and back-up
• Web tools (e.g. Skype, YouTube, Spotify, I-Tunes etc)
• Simple Word documents Hints and tips
